join v. to fix or connect two things to each other連接，結合。適用于實物的接觸、連接或至少兩個單獨物體的結合，也適用于人的結合或聯合（如形成一個群體）。Join the two ends of the rope together.把這繩子的兩端系在一起。

associate v. to join or be connected with someone or something使聯合，使結交，使參與，在頭腦中把某人與物或他人聯系在一起。He associates with some very strange people.他跟一些奇怪的人來往。
