華南國家植物園正式揭牌

我國第二家國家植物園——華南國家植物園11日在廣州正式揭牌。

Built on the current South China Botanical Garden in the eastern part of the city, its establishment was approved by the State Council in June.
華南國家植物園建在中國科學院華南植物園的基礎上，于今年6月經國務院批準建立。

With 333 hectares of exhibition and scientific research areas, it is the world's largest south subtropical botanical garden, as well as one of China's oldest institutions for botanical research and conservation.
園區展覽和科研用地333公頃，是目前世界上最大的南亞熱帶植物園，是我國歷史最悠久的植物學研究和保護機構之一。

In the next three to five years, a national plant conservation center will be established there to effectively protect 95 percent of rare and endangered plants in South China.
未來3到5年還將建立華南國家植物遷地保護中心，使華南地區珍稀瀕危植物的95%得到有效保護。
