一、本課的生詞和詞組
1、proud adj. 自豪
be proud of 以...為榮; 以...自豪

2、set out 啟航
set sth. out 安排、擺放某物件；陳述或宣布某事

5、plenty of 許多，大量
這個短語既可修飾可數名詞，也可修飾不可數名詞。
例句：We do not have plenty of time to waste!
我們沒有很多時間去浪費。
6、the Atlantic 大西洋，全稱為"The Atlantic Ocean"
相應地，比較常說的太平洋是the Pacific Ocean，亞太地區可以表述為Asian and Pacific regions。
二、本課的語法內容
本課主要學習的就是一般將來時態，也是新概念英語第二冊的語法重點。
一般將來時表示將要發生的動作或存在的狀態以及計劃、打算做某事，是由"will / shall +動詞原形"構成的。shall只限于第一人稱，主要見于英國英語，現在的趨勢是第一、二、三人稱的單復數形式均用will表示。其時間狀語有如下幾種：
1）this引導的短語 如 this year
2）tomorrow及其相關短語 如tomorrow morning例如：Our neighbour, Captain Charles Alison, will sail from Portsmouth tomorrow. 我們的鄰居查爾斯.艾利森船長明天就要從樸次茅斯啟航了。
3）next引導的短語 如 next month
4) from now on； in the future；in an hour ； for two months，例如文中： He will be away for two months.他要離開兩個月。
一般將來時的句型：
1.肯定句：主語+shall /will+動詞+其他成份
He will be in his small boat, Topsail.
他將乘坐他的"濤波賽"號小艇。
Captain Alison will set out at eight o'clock,……
艾利森船長將于8點鐘啟航……
2.否定句：主語+shall /will+not+動詞+其他成份
I will not go shopping one hour later. 一小時之后我不會去購物。
3.一般疑問句：shall /will+主語+動詞+其他成份
Will you be back in ten minutes? 十分鐘后你會回來嗎？
Will Captain Alison set out at eight o'clock？
艾利森船長將于8點鐘啟航么？
4.特殊疑問句：特殊疑問詞+shall /will+主語+動詞+其他成份
When will Captain Alison set out？
艾利森船長將于什么時候啟航？
有一句歌詞：What shall I do?我怎么辦呢?
