491　think, think about, think of和think over

1　think 是及物動詞。

（1）表示“想，思考”。

What are you thinking ? 你在想什么？

I am thinking when to do it. 我在思考什么時候做這件事。

He thought that it was time to go to bed. 他想該是睡覺時間了。

（2）表示“認為”，結構為：

think sb./sth.+賓語補足語 （名詞或形容詞 ）

think+that從句

I think him clever. 我認為他聰明。

I think her a good student. 我認為她是一個好學生。

I think (that) he is honest. 我認為他是誠實的。

（3） think后的賓語從句如果表示否定意義，常常否定主句中的think，從句用肯定式。注意這種“否定詞的轉移”，漢語說法同英語說法不同。

比較

我想我并不認識他。（漢語中否定賓語從句）

I don't think I know him.（英語中否定主句）

我認為明天不會下雨。

I don't think it will rain tomorrow.

我認為你不對。

I don't think you are right.

I don't think he will come. （正） 我認為他不會來。

I think he won't come . （正）

2　think about 表示“考慮，思考”，指從各方面去思考，相當于consider，結構為：

think about+sth. （名詞或代詞 ）

think about+doing sth.

think about+疑問代詞或疑問副詞+不定式

I am thinking about the problem. 我在考慮這個問題。

I am thinking about borrowing some money. 我在考慮著借一些錢。

Can you think about having another try? 你能考慮一下再試一次嗎？

I must think about how to work out the problem. 我必須考慮一下如何解決這個問題。

I have thought about what to say to her. 我已經考慮過對她說什么了。

3　think of 表示“想起，記起”，相當于remember, think of 還表示“認為，關心”。

She thought of her schooldays. 她想起了自己的學生時代。

I'm thinking of the painting. 我正在想到那幅畫。

What do you think of the house? 你認為這所房子怎樣？

He never thinks of other people. 他從不關心別人。

4　think over 表示“仔細考慮，反復考慮”，結構為：

think over+名詞

think+代詞+over

think over+what等引導的從句

Let me think it over . 讓我仔細考慮一下這件事。

He thought over the matter. 他把那件事認真考慮了一下。

Let me think over what you have said. 讓我仔細想想你講的話。
